Sponsors with Know-How

Hathmore Technologies and Metzler Remodeling have generously offered to perform the energy analysis of World of Spirits. They will make recommendations about how to spend the 24% of the revenue our mob pulls in on energy improvements and how to take advantage of tax incentives and rebates. They will also be on hand at the scene of the mob with more information about residential green services and how you can improve the energy efficiency of your own homes too.
Thank you awesome corporate sponsors!

Carrots in a nutshell
Just posted a new page detailing out what it is we’re trying to do here, as it hasn’t been made abudnantly clear what our whole process is. You can find that here: http://carrotmobkc.com/how/. I’d consider that the long version.
If you’re on the other end of the spectrum and want just a sound bite, we’ve now got two. We already had “Buy Booze, Save the Planet“, but now there’s also “Easy activism. You don’t even have to be a hippie, just a lush.“
Greenmail, redefined.
Traditionally, to Greenmail meant to strongarm a corporation by way of stock purchases (blackmail + greenbacks). However, I much prefer the definition Tony coined this morning, namely what we’re doing. Providing positive reinforcement for businesses to go green. Wouldn’t it be grand if this term gained more popular use? Its a concept that we could benefit from being in our lexicon. Language always affects politics, why not let it be in a positive way for a change? That would be double plus good.
Bidding war ends Friday
I know this is the first post to the shiny new CarrotmobKC blog, but things are already well underway. We’ve got the bidding war rolling for KC’s first Carrotmob campaign. We can’t share the details with you yet, but we’re very excited about how its going so far!
Quick catch-up for those of you just joining us (ie everybody):
Carrotmob started in San Francisco back in January or February 08. They did their first campaign March 29th, 08. A couple of us in KC got wind of their work, have been coordinating with them, and now are reproducing their successes here in KC.
What successes you might ask? Check out our About page!
